Memory writing festival to introduce 20 top works

Press conference of the 1st Sacred Defense memory writing festival was held Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, in Rahian Noor building.
The ceremony was attended by the conference's scientific secretary Commander Hamid Hesam who said that some 12,400 works were submitted to the secretariat of Sacred Defense provincial memory writing festivals. Following the work's assessments 100 works will be shortlisted for the finals of which 20 works will be picked up.
He talking about the necessity of considering the field of Sacred defense memory writing saying the Foundation of preserving and publishing Sacred Defense relics has paid certain heed to the fields of fiction and poetry through holding literary congresses and festivals but memories were ignored.
Now we have considered paying special attention to the field of Sacred Defense memory writing via the conference. Although the measure was taken with delay but is requires a national work, he added.
He then talked about the provincial Sacred Defense memory writing festival and said:" Provincial festivals were the first steps to identify the capacities, encourage the narrators to say and the authors to write."
Hesam comparing pomes, fictions and memories and said:" In poetry and fiction contemplation is desirable. But the pass of time is a negative point of memories since they are unveiled stories of a generation which are rapidly aging."
He went on to say that Sacred Defense memory writing reminds the war's incidents through seeing and listening as well as writing them.
He added that sacred Defense memories are divided into 2 sections; biography and autobiography.
Moreover according to their literary genres, memories are divided into 3 groups of "Lengthy", "medium" and "short". The lengthy memories mostly belong to commanders, women and some war veterans. The medium ones is less than the lengthy ones but they are released as books as well. But the short memories have been ignored thus the Sacred Defense memory writing festival will concentrate on it, he added.
He added that the works will be assessed according to their "Subject", "Documentation", "Prose" and "Compilation".
He finally said that the closing ceremony of the 1st Sacred Defense memory writing festival will be held on Feb. 1 in Howze Honari.
