Shortly after start of the imposed war, Imam [Khomeini] (PBUH) appointed Bani-Sadr as Commander-in-chief. After that, he took over command of the war. As Commander-in-Chief of the forces, Bani-Sadr cared somehow the army [(Artesh)]; while not only he did not cooperate with IRGC and did not care it, but also opposed it. I went to the front a few times and talked to several commanders of IRGC; they all complained about Bani-Sadr and said this man does not provide enough ammunition to IRGC.

I started taking the leaflets, and their distribution and reproduction in Dey of 1356 (December 1977) when an insulting article was written about the Imam. When I [Mohammed Javad Gerami] and other railway workers were at work and commuting to Qom by train, we took the leaflets from the offices of Mr. Pasandideh, the brother of Imam Khomeini, Ayatollah Golpayegani and Ayatollah Shariatmadari, brought them to Arak, and then reproduced and distributed them.

At the very beginning of the revolution, Imam Khomeini ordered to establish several institutions such as Jihad Sazandegi (Jihad of Construction), Basij, and Nehzat-e Savad Amuzi (Literacy Movement). Did you also work in these institutions? I held a class on behalf of Narjes School (Maktab-e Narjes) for educators of the literacy movement who wanted to become a teacher in villages. I taught methods of teaching Quran, attractions of classroom management, and dealing with students.

I moved towards Beit [house] of Imam. I arrived at the hospital near Beit at 8:35 a.m. Mr. Khamenei had arrived before me. Imam had been anesthetized. He was on the operating bed. We watched the operation from CCTV. It took more than two hours. During the surgery, the news suggested satisfaction of the doctors. Imams family was also there. They were more patient than me. They were relaxed. Mr. Mousavi Ardabili also came.

I talked to some of my religious student friends and said: "Let us go to Ardebil and Sarein together for a trip." Of course, I did not mention any problems that happened to me in that city.
