Daily Review of Spies Nest Seizure Released
Entitled as the “Day of Godâ€, a daily review of the seizure of the nest of spies (US Embassy in Tehran) on November 3, 1979, is published based on the memories of Seyed Mohammad Hashem Pour-Yazdan Parast, a member of the “Muslim Student Followers of the Imams Lineâ€. The work is released by Sooreh Mehr Publications in Iran.
IBNA: Hussein Nasrollah Zanjani compiled the “Day of God†based on the documents and written materials available about the seizure of the nest of spies.
Pages 13 to 33 of the book entail a review of the events that led to the seizure and issues like the Gonbad row, the then-governments lack of cooperation with Imam Khomeinis revolutionary policies, assassination of Ayatollah Motahhari, crushing efforts to sever Kurdistan and rumors about the return of F-14 fighters to Americans.
It later moves on to a detailed overview of the seizure of the nest of spies (or the US Embassy in Tehran) on November 3 1979 and peoples uprising subsequent to a call by the revolution council on the occasion of the anniversary of Imams exile, the anniversary of the martyrdom of Tehran University students and the 24 days that followed the anniversaries.
The work brings about documents and historical evidence about the criminal acts of the US Embassy in Iran after seizure by students, during the days that Imam Khomeini called it “The Second Revolutionâ€.
Discussing issues about the 7th day of the capture of the nest, page 120 of the book reads as follows: Today, the 4th notification will be released. Through confidential letter, sent to the US Embassy in Tehran a long time ago, US Secretary of State Cyrus Vance inquired the Embassy about Shahs application for US visa and the effect of the application and its approval on the health and safety of Americans abiding in Iran, especially the US Embassy staff, and the wellbeing of Iran-US relations. It was noted in the correspondence that Bazargan and his administration were the only means to minimize possible disputes and threats in Iran-US relations. It was also demanded through the communication that none of the US staff should have been informed about its content. The letter is an irrefutable document indicating that Shahs sickness was nothing but a mere pretext and that they (Americans) intended to shelter him in the US regardless of neither his health nor any other humane matters.
A number of pictures and scanned copies of documents about the seizure of the nest of spies are placed at the end of the book.
2,000 copies of “Day of God: reasons and primary memories about the days of the seizure of the nest of spies†have been printed. Arranged in 335 pages, the books compilation was ordered by the Provincial Resistance Literature and Studies Bureau and the Resistance Literature and Studies Bureau of the Howzeh Honari in Fars Province.

It has been published by Sarv-e Sorkh Publications in 500 copies in spring of 1400 (2022) and in 574 pages. Fatemeh Ghanbari has edited the book and the interview was conducted with the cooperation of Hossein Zahmatkesh.
