Islamic Revolution Informing Website launched

 The Bureau for the Islamic Revolution Literature at the Iranian Art Center (Hozeh-ye Honari) launched “Islamic Revolution Informing Website” in the threshold of its 20th years of activity, Iranian oral history website reported. This website is a branch of the bureau and its initiation ceremony was held in Mehr saloon of the Art Center in June 11th 2012. It is to be used by Islamic Revolution researchers through information and subject matter index. Mohsen Moemeni, the head of Art Center; Hedayatollah Behbudi, director of the Bureau for the Islamic Revolution Literature; Morteza Sarhangi, the manager of the Bureau for Art and Literature of Resistance; Professor Hassani Goharzad, expert in communication sciences, and a group of writers and researchers in Islamic Revolution field were present in the exhibition ceremony of the website.

Promotion of concepts and meanings of Islamic Revolution is the main duty of the Art Center
Praising those in the bureau who has gathered more than 450,000 of texts and documents mainly about Islamic Revolution, during all these years, Mohsen Moemeni, the head of Art Center, in this ceremony said: “These individuals derestricted the information and rendered it to the researchers and activists whose concern were to acquire such information. I hope this cultural measure can be spread in other organizations and institutions. This move will render the firsthand information to the researchers and investigators of Islamic Revolution easily”.
“The main duty of the Art Center” he continued, “is to promote the concepts and meanings of Islamic Revolution and other measures taken should be in line with its ideals and values. A large amount of labors have been endured during the production of the information exhibited in this website”.

“There could be seen some shortcomings in the part relating to the revolution history and this has provoked some foreign media to inverse the realities of the history of Islamic Revolution and also to some interpolations. This information can absorb the attraction of readers, especially those parts relating to the history and events of the revolution periods can be considered as important references for historians and researchers of the revolution. The structure and the content of history of revolution should not be allowed to be flawed by interpolations. Islamic Revolution is emanated from Islamic ideology and is in line with the 8 years of Holy Defense. Nowadays Islamic Awakening is in this line too”, he asserted.
 â€œIslamic Revolution has many valuable and dignified meanings and concepts. The Islamic Revolution informing website, acknowledging these concepts, renders firsthand information to those interested in history of the revolution and researchers and wishes to encourage the investigators deepen their activities in the field of Islamic Revolution history. This site also wishes to transfer the theoretical discussions related to investigating the revolution according to the criteria and ideals of Islamic Revolution and Iranian culture. The Islamic Revolution informing website is the result of two decades of endeavors of those working in the Bureau for the Islamic Revolution Literature who have rendered the harvest of their labors to the public and investigators”, he added.
Cultural Authorities Will Be Content with These Informing Websites in the Future
Hassani Goharzad, an expert in communication sciences and university professor, was one of the invitees to this ceremony. He referring to the information society in the world, said: “In today world, despite numerous sites delivering different information, acquiring up-to-date information has its own high place yet. Information intellectuals anticipate reaching a global village in a short period in the information and data universe. Iran stands at the 126th place among 136 countries of the world in terms of media literacy. It is a fact that those who are not familiar with digital and metaphorical world are deprived from their primary rights. Cultural authorities will be content with these informing websites in the future. The reason why we are not known in many parts of the world yet, is that we have not introduced ourselves in digital and metaphorical fields”.
 â€œInforming sites help to be informed from up-to-date information of the world. The organization or the institution not enjoying the latest information will be deleted by rivals. We should utilize the information market in its best form. It is the data and information that make the future. Achieving a national unity and solidarity in growing, gathering and developing information will be fruitful and the organization personnel should protect this one by one”, he continued.
“These sites need applied and easy to process information. It should be gathered on time and the goals of the procedure should be defined beforehand”. Hassani Goharzad talking about the quality of these sites also stated: “Preparing, producing, regulating, composing, explaining and spreading information should be in its best form”.
“Today initiation of this informing website enters the Bureau for the Islamic Revolution Literature to metaphorical sphere”, he added.

The utmost information should be produced through a trial and error perspective
Hedayatollah Behbudi, director of the Bureau for the Islamic Revolution Literature, was the next lecturer of the ceremony. “The initiation of Islamic revolution informing website is indebted to the labors and concern of the personnel of the bureau. They initiated this site as they had done about Iranian Oral History and Khordad 15th 1342(June 5th 1963) sites”, he said.
“Historiography is not in an ideal situation in the country, but what is now happening is promising”. He also stated: “Our present situation is not comparable to 10 years ago, our progress has been exponentially and this is encouraging”.
“Nowadays in any organization that has achieved a success, a need to have a website is felt. I am not to say that we were completely far from this feeling but we tried to overpass it and focus more on the content than on the appearance. As in economic fields, in which for subsistence and necessaries we have to produce, production in cultural field too is a necessity. Instead of blocking the information production by hard criticism, we should eagerly and with a look of trial and error produce as much information as possible in websites to reach a good place. The monopolization atmosphere is slowed down in the resent decade fortunately. Being able to reach the information and data of the Islamic Parliament and the National libraries is a clue to this point”, Behbudi added.

This web site is one of those delivering information about different aspects of Islamic revolution. It was initiated by the Bureau for the Islamic Revolution Literature after two years of hard endeavors. Various experiences and expertise has been used in this way.  It delivers huge sources of information in its own different parts and will be gradually referred to by all those interested in history of Islamic revolution especially revolution researchers. As a result, the goals of this center for preparing proper grounds for investigating about contemporary history, Imam Khomeini’s movement and Islamic revolution will be partly realized.  The information sources of this metaphorical sphere is based on more than 450,000 of research leaflets (about historical periods between 1961-1964 and 1977-1978), the biography of 60,000 of contemporary historical figures and dignitaries, more than 13,000 of photos from these figures, about 6150 hours of interview with 850 cultural and political dignitaries and well-known figures, and more than 7000 foreign articles.
