You Go and Sit in Qom

When news of Imam's decision to return to Iran was published, many clergies and people came to Tehran from different cities to welcome him. For example, figures such as Martyrs Madani, Dastgheib and Sadoughi came Tehran. May God rest their souls. The late Ayatollah Boroujerdi (peace be upon him) used to read this verse when name and memory of the past Ulama were mentioned:

A cut from memoirs of Jalil Taeffi

Escaping with camera

We were in the garden of one of my friends in "Siss" on 26th of Dey 1357 (January 16, 1979). We had gone for fun. It was there that we heard the news of Shah's escape from the local people. They said that the radio had announced. As soon as I heard this news, I took a donkey and went on its back.

Excerpts from Oral Memories of Hajj Qasem Soleimani

Operation Fath ol-Mobin lasted ten days. We were in conflict with the Iraqis in Dasht-e Abbas. Kamarsorkh was in our hands and we controlled the area with the embankment we had built next to Imamzadeh. The Iraqis also retreated towards Abu Ghraib Strait. One of our companies survived. Most of the people were either wounded or died a martyr.

The First Revolutionary Committee in Mashhad

Keramat Mosque was the base in the first days of the revolution. In the sense that all the revolutionary guys gathered and concentrated in Keramat Mosque, and did everything like arresting those accused of collaborating with the previous regime. Memoirs of Mohammad Reza Sherkat Tootoonchi

The days of 9th and 10th of Dey 1357 9th of Dey

The shooting was intensified and some were injured and the rally broke up. With the help of a driver, we took five or six injured people to Shah Reza Hospital for seven or eight times. Thank God, the hospital had enough beds, because it was usual for the organizers of the rally to inform the medical staff of the hospitals that had joined the revolution a day in advance, and they vacated their beds.

Keep the Frame Right

My friends and I [Mohammad Hossein Matiei] was involved in the reproduction of the declaration. According to the anti-Savak pamphlets that Mr. Gholamreza Malik, one of the employees of the [Arak] machine factory, gave us to study, the number of people to do this work should be limited so that if one person was exposed, he would not have the ability to expose the others.

Student Declaration against Resurrection Party

In the 1974, we were in high school when the Shah announced the establishment of the Resurrection (Rastakhiz) Party. We always used to listen to this radio in the evenings. Later, we found out that militant clergy radio was started and managed by Mr. Mahmoud Doai.

Consequences of the Speech at the Ceremony of Lieutenant General Zargham

Time was passing slowly and every day brought a new incident for me, until one day I was summoned to the office of the head of the Taibad Security Organization, Mr. Sharfi. It should be noted that they said SAVAK has a wide range and is very powerful. Anyway, they wanted me. When I went to his office, he was quite respectful.

Bloody Muharram

There were staunch supporters of the Shah in some cities and if a revolutionary thing was carried out in Najafabad, we were sure that we would have problem in passing the town. If a passing car did not have a photo of the Shah on its windscreen, they broke the windscreen with stones. We also preempted and kept a two or five-Toman Shahanshahi bill on the windscreen. In the last one or two years of the Pahlavi's rule,

Operation Beit al-Moqaddas and Liberation of Khorramshahr

After Operation Fat’h al-Mobin, we traveled to Kermanshah and visited Sar-e-Pol-e-Zahab before heading to Ilam. During Operation Beit al-Moqaddas, the 27th Brigade was still receiving support from the West. We maintained contact with individuals who had previously worked in Area 7 and were now leading the brigade. It was through these connections that I learned about Operation Beit al-Moqaddas.

The Necessity of Receiving Feedback in Oral History

Whenever we engage in a task, we naturally seek ways to evaluate our performance — to correct shortcomings and enhance strengths. Such refinement is only possible through the feedback we receive from others. Consider, for instance, a basketball player whose shots are consistently accurate; should he begin shooting blindfolded, his success rate would rapidly decline, as he would be deprived of essential feedback from each attempt.
